Exporting without going to youtube etc

As a new Final Cut user I'm horrified to discover there seems to be no way to use this program without having a YouTube account and exporting directly to it or something like it. This is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. There must be a way to export the stupid movie I've made without having it go to YouTube or Facebook or Vimeo or whatever. Why can't I simply export to a file and then upload it if I want?

Is there a way, or is Apple completely out of its corporate brainless mind?

Don't want to seem ungrateful but why do these files have to be routed to various other programs? What is wrong with simply saving the file somewhere for use later? I couldn't find the Mail option until discovering it by accident attached to a draft email. TheYoutube option wouldn't work because I had to have a "verified" YouTube account. The huge desktop version I created for Drop Box will take 8 hours to upload. Also, is there any way to tell that Final Cut is actually doing something? There doesn't seem to be any progress bar or any other indication going on. I've exported several versions of this one movie, but have no idea where they are or where they'll wind up or even if they are being created.

You select a Share or Export option to suit you delivery point.

As an example:

To shrink your file for Computer use select Export File and alter the choices:

User uploaded file

Where the file goes is wherever you choose.

After hitting the NEXT button you get this:

User uploaded file

The WHERE field can be set by you and sent to anywhere connected to you system. e.g. external drive, USB stick, SD card.

Regards what is happening during a Share operation:

The timecode field has a circle that has a BLUE line that moves and the percentage numbers increase as the Share proceeds:

User uploaded file

For even more info click the round dial to reveal the Background Tasks HUD:

User uploaded file
